ololiuqui

Ololiuqui, coaxihuitl, (Turbina corymbosa, syn. Rivea corymbosa), is a psychedelic in the Convolvulaceae (bindweed) family, closely related to common morning glories (Ipomoea purpurea), and Hawaiian baby woodrose (Argyreia nervosa). The effects are believed to come from the ergot related indole alkaloid ergine (also known as d-lysergic acid amide or LSA). Only the seeds are used. Traditional preparations include a beverage known as piule, as well as a small toasted wafer. Effects last 6-10 hours.
